Rithac Revenged
The adventurers gathered to the White Draginn, and met up with Hackman, the dwarven smith of Rithac Villiage of the Northlands near Kraigen Ice Floes.  Now that the crew of the White Draginn had obtained the Portal Closing Magic Item, he suggested, for payment, that they gather up and try out their new trinket on the Ice Fiends that had decimated the town.  This they did...however the task proved more difficult than anticipated as the creatures were able to hurl ice shards at the companions with uncanny precision.  The party had a good blend of skills and a talented rogue, which brought luck to the crew and success to the mission.  They finally came upon the glittering portal and fought bravely, closing the gate to the plane of ice, stopping the Ice Fiend threat to the region.  Each companion received a hearty thanks, a warm meal, and a silver piece from Hackman as a reward for services rendered.

The Archmage and the War of Kheldaril
The Archmage arrived later with grave news.  He had discovered that the Flesh Mage was taking slaves which he termed "brides" to his flying citadel.  None of the slaves ever returned. These bride-slaves were often brainwashed somehow into wanting to go to the Flesh Mage.  The Archmage also gave a quick summary about the chain of events leading up to this point.  He mentioned how Jasaad was tied to the Sunken City Swamp's past in that he had bought and received control of the dam that held Goblin Lake in place.  The "mayor" of the ancient city of Sturm Solace had sold these rights in an attempt to get funding for his exploits against a certain Red Queen.  Jasaad had destroyed the dam and destroyed the city.  All of the inhabitants were also killed but were raised again as various undead trapped forever to experience those horrifying moments forever.  It was only after the re-forming of the dam by Ogree's troops in order to excavate the treasures of the city that the area began to have adventurers.  After the adventurers who called the White Draginn a base camp had released and reversed the evils of Jasaad and the treachery of the mayor, Jasaad was freed from the curse he had created.  Jasaad, with his vile Black Dragon, then began summoning Fiends which he called the Sand Lords.  With the Sand Lords, he sacked Confluence, scattering the survivors into hiding.  Even the Queen was rumored to be destroyed.

Welcome to LARP Utah - Legendary Adventures Role Play!

(Note: This website is best viewed in Mozilla Firefox.)

LARP Utah is a live action role-playing game designed to encompass the best parts of fantasy and medieval drama with problem solving intrigue.  This means that the player develops a character, creates a costume, and takes on the role of the character while playing the game.  There is a blend of role play, combat, and plot advancement that occurs during the course of the game.  The experience is immerse and fun-challenging the players’ minds and bodies in a creative fantasy game world.  The game world for Legendary Adventurers Role Play is named Daedalan.

Those who have played similar games will find that there is a basic knowledge of gaming that is shared among each different system.  This system is unique on many levels however, including over 400 spells in multiple magic systems, 19 species to play, as well as more diversified skills for all classes which include fighters, rogues, mages and merchants.  This allows for endless combinations of character types for the nearly endless variations of personal player experiences.  In addition, this system encourages ingenuity and creativity, so that each player may use the rules to their advantage in every situation.

This is a “boffer” (foam padded)  based game, which means you will engage in combat with weapons which are padded and constructed for maximal safety.

This game is different than video games because there is a lot of imagination that the player must use to “see” the monsters.  Masks, costuming, and props will help with this area, but imagination is still key.  This game is different than table top dice games in that it requires initiative to explore new lands and areas with a great deal less “spoon feeding” of plot and events.  There are multiple plots going on a time so following one requires some of your own initiative.  In addition, the existing plots will be influenced by players’ decisions and actions during game play. This game is different from other live action role playing games in that it has history of lands pre-written before the game began, a full map of the immediate area and surrounding regions, a full map of available homelands with their histories, almost a limitless array of combinations for character design, and a fully committed staff that have the goal of FUN in mind.

What does that mean?

Here are some terms that you may hear at a LARP Utah event or in our Forums:

PC: Player character; Player characters are those who play the game with freedom, experiencing the game without knowing the upcoming plot and are at liberty to play the game as they desire.

NPC: Non-player character; the "bad guys"; the ones your PC fights with or interacts with during the game. Non-player characters are the “extras” that have various roles from monsters to kings.

Plot-Player Characters: With proper approval, a player may chose to play a Plot-Player Character.  They must comply within specific limitations and character traits that LARP staff designs, but is allowed to role-play within those limitations to fulfill a specific need.  They are not as free to choose their own destiny.  A Plot-Player Character will build experience for a second normal PC at ½ skill points per event.

Professional NPC: Professional NPC’s are in total control by Storytellers and plot, performing all the roles of an NPC, from monster to random merchant.  To be a PNPC, a player must sign on as one for an entire year’s worth of events (12 months) without stopping to play a PC role.  Players choosing this role get to build a PC character that starts at 6th level at the time of their start.  They do not pay for events, except for food.
